Tired of Ballot Issues Being Subverted by MO's Activist Judges Who Rewrite the Ballot Language?
Senator Brattin's Bill To the Rescue
Brattin report.png

A favorite game played by the Left in Missouri is challenging the SOS ballot language which provides the "plain language" of a ballot issue. The legislature passes special legislation called "joint resolutions" that must then go on the ballot for voters to say yes or no to. The SOS office is responsible for writing the language that appears on the ballot.

Too often, the Left challenges that language, an activist judge gets involved, and the end result is the language on the ballot is no longer that of the SOS but instead it is not the language of a judge with an agenda.

SB22 fixes that problem. We thank Senator Brattin for leading the charge to make ballot language fair and honest.

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage." - Alexander Fraser Tytler (15 October 1747 – 5 January 1813)

(Our thanks to Jerry Wadel for bringing this quote to our attention.)

Where would Americans say we are in the process described above? It is undeniable we are close to the tipping point, and the behavior of the Socialist Left would suggest they see themselves in the role of Dictator. Will America let this happen, or will America rise up again in 2024, as we did in 2016 and 2020, and re-elect the man who would not be king but would be the Defender of Liberty: President Donald J. Trump.
