Why Can't We Ever Get Anything Done There?
- We Have a "Super Majority" ...Or Do We? -
This page will contain bills we are following - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Right now, in 2025, while President Trump is rushing at breakneck speed to eliminate wasteful spending and rein in out of control government, many in Missouri feel like our legislators haven't gotten the message. It's business as usual with lobbyists buying off our elected officials. The insulting comments below are excerpts from elected officials. The tone shows you just how much they hate voters. The very clear message is that we surfs should not bother the elected royalty with our concerns.
This is a veiled threat from Byrnes that state elected representatives should target chairs who give them a hard time. Pretty arrogant and disrespectful of the voters and Republican party, isn't it!

This is Rep Perkins suggesting that voters should mind their own business by comparing our interest in what they, our PAID elected officials are doing, to them butting into the VOLUNTARY job of the state party chair. Clearly, he thinks he owes nothing to the voters.

This is one of several emails where Rep Hurbert was simply being insulting to a voter and also had no actual knowledge of the situation about which he was pontificating. It's an amazingly rude series of comments from an elected official with a C- rating from Freedom Index, a C+ in 2021 and B- in 2022 from CPAC, and a C from Freedom Principle for 2023. Maybe he should spend more time reading the Republican Platform instead of insulting a Republican chair.

Things will only change when voters are fed up enough to pay attention. You can't just show up on election day and pick the same old name or the first name in the list. The electorate has to get engaged. If there is an incumbent on the list, take the time to find out how (s)he voted and did those votes represent your values or the values of the lobbyists who bought and paid for your guy? Elected officials will pay attention when their chances of continuing in office are threatened.

The "Leadership In The State House" article below is a prime example. Patterson has a horrid track record, yet he was elected overwhelmingly as Speaker, the most powerful position in the House. Why? Because that's the way the money rolls. Those ten names in red are the heroes who were brave enough to say "Enough!" We need to do the same.
Leadership In The State House
Thank You to Those Who Signed Resolutions
Thank you to all who participated in the support of Rep Justin Sparks for Speaker of the House. You made your wishes known by signing our public resolution. The vote is Wednesday, January 8th. We will see how it turns out. The results will be posted here.

Sadly, today the majority of representatives elected Jon Patterson to be their next Speaker. We can only hope the attention this race garnered will result in a more conservative approach to Rep Patterson's leadership. As a reminder, the bullet points below are just a few of the reasons the grassroots do not support this man for the most important position in the MO House.
-
He has voted NO for IP Reform TWICE
-
He is a self-declared “never-Trump-er”
-
He is one of 3 Republicans who voted NO for the SAFE Act to keep boys in boys’ sports and girls in girls’ sports
-
He has repeatedly voted NO for PRO-gun bills
-
He opposed taking Amendment 3 to the courts to litigate the abortion/transgender bill, and instead calls it “The Law of the Land.”
-
He believes the current idea of allowing only SOME bills to come to Committees to be heard, especially those having money backing, is a good idea, as opposed to ALL bills being heard.
-
He wants to be THE ONE who decides which bills are and are NOT heard.
Here's how the vote went, per representative. Green are votes for Patterson, red are votes for Sparks.
